Design services offered by Goat:

At Goat, we only say 'yes' to projects that we believe in. We also only say 'yes' to a client's request for a service when we know our team can execute to our own very high standards.

The design process:

We approach every project differently, working to design a solution that makes sense for your organization. Even with that customized approach, there’s always a process in place. Design is about solving problems through intuitive experiences and visual storytelling. By following specific steps and asking well-designed questions, we get to the answers that inform your future and set us up for tactical success.

Familiarize

It's important that we understand your business' goals, values, and strengths. Where design is concerned, we want to understand how to create a long-term approach to our projects, and knowing how we can support your team's independent execution is key.

Listen

Every project starts by listening. We’ll ask questions about your goals and the challenges you’re experiencing, using our learnings to guide our external research studies that will help to build a bigger picture of the problem at hand. The discovery stage may include interviews with key internal stakeholders, competitor research and user research.

Define

Analyzing the data gathered will provide us with a clear understanding of the user and their needs, motivations and pain points. Ensuring to align user pain-points with your business goals, we’ll define the requirements of the project, outlining Key Performance Indicators or metrics that help us to measure its success.

Ideate

The ideation stage is where the problem solving begins. We’ll start with a high volume of ideas and potential solutions, often sketched on paper or scribbled on our whiteboard. These will be narrowed down, reiterating and refined into wireframes and mockups.

Test

In addition to any on-the-fly testing that happens during the ideation stage, prototyping is a more formalized testing process that happens next. Refined concepts are presented to an audience to highlight any usability issues or concerns before the concept goes to build.

Develop

We work closely with our developers during the build phase. Designs are handed off to our development team via Zeplin, ensuring all mockups and assets are present. Technical features are implemented where appropriate, ensuring all pre-existing software is integrated.

Deliver

Following a round of internal QA, the product goes live. We’ll present your new digital experience to you and will walk you through the backend to ensure your team can upload and change content as required. You will have an opportunity to conduct a round of QA independently to provide us with feedback to implement to ensure your product performs and functions as intended.

Design technologies we love:

We leverage a lot of interesting and powerful technology to make our design research and planning more effective. Here are some of our favourites:

Pencil & Paper

Call us old fashioned, but we find that sketching out a concept is the most efficient method of communicating our initial ideas to our team and to clients, allowing us to implement feedback and reiterate a design ready to be digitized.

Sketch

We design interfaces and digital products using Sketch - a design tool developed by the Dutch company Bohemian Coding. Sketch is our go-to when creating wireframes, building prototypes and designing interfaces.

Zeplin

Collaborating with teammates and clients is a dream thanks to Zeplin. When it comes to gathering feedback, we export our designs from Sketch to Zeplin ready for commenting. As soon as a design is signed off, our developers can jump straight into Zeplin to bring the design to life.

Optimal Workshop

We Optimal Workshop - a comprehensive user research platform that allows us to run quick studies on the fly. We use TreeJack and OptimalSort to validate our concepts with real life users.

HotJar

With the help of HotJar’s heatmap tool, we are able to get an understanding of how users interact with an existing web page. When it comes to website redesigns, this information gives us a starting point, raising important questions to steer our research direction in the initial stages of a project.

The Whiteboard

We write a lot on the whiteboard. We draw a lot of lines between thought bubbles and concepts. We create lists. It’s faster and more collaborative than similar digital tools, and even though it was invented in the 1950s, it’s a technology we love.

The Adobe Suite

When it comes to illustration or print design, you just can’t beat the trusty Adobe Suite for its robust capabilities and integrated platform.

We're here to brainstorm, and we're pretty friendly.

There's no one-size-fits-all solution for business challenges. Let's discover your potential together.
